VR Training for the Automotive Industry
Helping workers understand and perform their tasks in an engaging way.
When it comes to onboarding processes for assembly tasks, it is standard practice to have written instructions which need to be checked off. The big disadvantage of teaching workflows in this manner is the lack of real-life connection and actual engagement. This is where VR comes into play. By putting the worker into a digital environment, they can safely learn to perform tasks while staying focused and engaged.
We created VR training scenarios for different processes in the assembly of automotive parts. These training scenarios are supposed to help new employees in the onboarding process, as well as teach new tasks to existing employees. To immerse them in the scenario, the environment was modeled to look like a warehouse.
More engaging than traditional methods
Instead of having to read a boring document, workers can actually interact with tools how they would in the real world and perform the tasks in a safe, virtual environment.
Visual Guide & Feedback
An animation shows the worker which step needs to be performed next. If they make a mistake, they will also get notified.
Safe Learning Environment
Learning to perform tasks in virtual reality reduces the risk of injury for workers who aren't familiar with the equipment yet.
